About the position

The Purchasing Manager at our Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) repair station in the aviation industry is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the procurement process. This role involves sourcing and purchasing materials, parts, and services necessary for aircraft maintenance and repair operations. The Purchasing Manager ensures that the station maintains optimal inventory levels, negotiates with suppliers for the best terms, and collaborates with various departments to meet operational needs while adhering to budget constraints. In this position, the Purchasing Manager will develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the availability of high-quality materials and parts at the best possible prices. This includes identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, both domestic and international, to expand the supplier base and mitigate risks. Establishing long-term relationships with key suppliers is crucial to secure favorable terms and ensure reliability. The role also encompasses supplier management, where the Purchasing Manager will negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Monitoring supplier performance, conducting regular audits, and taking corrective action as needed are essential responsibilities. Additionally, the Purchasing Manager will oversee inventory management, ensuring that parts and materials are available when needed while minimizing excess stock. This involves working closely with production and maintenance teams to forecast demand and plan procurement accordingly. Budget and cost control are also key aspects of the role, requiring the development and management of the purchasing department's budget and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Compliance and risk management are critical, as the Purchasing Manager must ensure that all purchasing activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and government standards, including FAA regulations. The role requires leading, mentoring, and developing a team of purchasing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the procurement team.
