About the position

As an Aviation Systems Integration & Test Engineer at Garmin, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of our aviation systems, products, and services. This position involves hands-on system testing, where you will be responsible for validating user experiences and verifying system requirements. You will work closely with development teams to create comprehensive system test plans that align with project schedules, ensuring that customer expectations are met across various aviation markets. Your responsibilities will include developing detailed system test procedures, troubleshooting integration bench setup issues, and investigating problems reported by customers. Clear communication is essential, as you will need to articulate issues observed during testing and recommend effective solutions to engineering teams. Additionally, you will define and maintain system architectures and requirements, proactively seeking ways to improve processes, tools, and procedures to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness. Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on system testing of new systems, products, and services
  • Understand and communicate customer expectations across aviation markets
  • Create system test plans in coordination with development schedules
  • Develop system test procedures to validate user experience and verify system requirements
  • Troubleshoot integration bench setup issues and investigate problems reported by customers
  • Clearly communicate issues observed during testing and recommend solutions to engineering teams
  • Define and maintain system architectures and requirements
  • Proactively improve processes, tools, and procedures
  • Exemplify Garmin's Mission, Vision, Values, and Quality Policy and proactively work to improve Garmin's image and culture

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another technical field
  • Minimum of 1 year relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0)
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas: Systems Integration, System Safety, System Requirements
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in an Engineering field
  • Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
  • Demonstrated passion for and involvement in the aviation community
  • Operational knowledge of Garmin or competitive avionics
  • Previous work experience with consumer or aviation products
