About the position
This part-time, non-benefited position is designed for University of North Dakota (UND) students to provide academic support through AVID methodologies. The role involves leading tutorial groups, acting as a role model for AVID students, and advocating for the program among peers. The position is fully remote and requires a commitment of 6 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Attend a 2-hour training in AVID methodologies
- Provide academic support to students
- Lead subject-specific tutorial groups
- Act as a role model for AVID students
- Assist in the organization and participation of functions and activities
- Advocate for AVID among college peers in order to build a pool of tutors
Requirements
- Must have accepted a Federal Work Study award from the Office of Student Finance
- Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits for the employed academic semester
- 2.5 GPA
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
- Valid Driver's License
- Candidate is responsible for their own transportation to off-campus location
