About the position

The Avionics and Mission Systems Engineer role at Bell involves integrating complex vehicle management and mission systems for advanced aircraft. This position is crucial in developing the future of Army Aviation, particularly with projects like the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) and the Bell 525 Relentless. Engineers will collaborate with various teams to ensure the efficient and safe operation of aircraft systems, focusing on innovative cockpit designs and advanced technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, and manage new aircraft avionics and mission systems within an Integrated Product Team (IPT).
  • Build, interface, and test multiple computer systems in a modular architecture to meet various requirements.
  • Create data interfaces for Ethernet, serial, and various avionics bus protocols throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Manage Avionics and Mission Systems suppliers via specifications and statements of work, including estimating and managing schedules and budgets.
  • Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines to test and verify avionics systems on aircraft.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • At least 2 years of experience in avionics disciplines such as RF communications, navigation, crew station design, and more.
  • Familiarity with ARP4754A for architecture and systems development.
  • Experience in system development and testing in a Systems Integration Lab.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in development, integration, validation, and verification of systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving system integration/verification issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing system architectures using model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
  • Excellent communication skills to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and suppliers.
