About the position

This role at Blue Origin focuses on the development and operations of the New Glenn heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle. The position involves leading the automation of design, testing, verification, and validation processes for launch vehicle control applications. It is a hands-on development role aimed at improving engineering efficiency and throughput while maintaining high-quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with design teams and may also be responsible for autonomous control applications, contributing to the evolution of the development framework.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of architectures and approaches for automating design, test, verification, and validation of launch vehicle control applications.
• Build and deploy tools to eliminate design, analysis, and verification bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with design teams to improve throughput and maintain quality of control applications.
• Innovate process improvements in the model-based design framework.
• Support test teams to gain insights into the development framework.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Advanced Simulink development skills.
• 5+ years industry experience in avionics operations, launch systems, aerospace, or satellite operations.
• Hands-on experience in developing, authoring, and executing integrated tests or operating launch vehicles.
• Proven experience with avionics analysis and operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships.

Nice-to-haves

• MS Degree in Engineering or related subject area.
• 7+ years experience in avionics operations, launch systems, aerospace, or satellite operations.
• Engineering leadership and mentorship experience.
• Project management experience.
• Experience developing rockets, missiles, or other sophisticated aerospace, automotive, or marine vehicle systems.
