As an Avionics Hardware Design Engineer III, you will play a crucial role in the avionics controller hardware architecture for various spaceflight systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. You will be part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, responsible for all aspects of avionics engineering product development, including architectural definition, hardware and software development, design, and verification. Your responsibilities will include developing avionics hardware, which encompasses boards and integrated assemblies. You will need to have a solid understanding of the entire product life-cycle, including concept and requirements definition, design, prototyping, verification, and release to production. You will also develop analog and digital boards that interact with avionics systems, including sensors and electromechanical/electrohydraulic actuators. This role requires you to support avionics architecture trade studies, performance characterization, specification, device selection, and controller roadmap direction. Additionally, you will participate in risk analyses, failure modes effects and criticality analyses (FMECA), and design for test/manufacture/cost (DFx).
