About the position

Flexjet, an award-winning organization, is seeking an experienced Avionics Service Tech to join our innovative in-house maintenance facility located in Sanford, Florida. This full-time position involves working on private aircraft, where you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, and calibrating aircraft electronic systems and components. You will certify integrated avionic systems and components at intermediate levels, utilizing shop avionics support equipment and specialized precision measuring equipment. In this role, you will analyze malfunctions and perform maintenance on avionics support equipment using calibration standards. You will also be tasked with installing, aligning, and wiring electrical and electronic components such as sensors, radio communications, antennas, and lights. Performing continuity checks and functional checkouts of complete aircraft systems is essential, as is processing inspection forms and signing your name as the technician after completing your work. It is crucial to notify the proper authority of any suspected unairworthy conditions found during your duties. You will set up and operate necessary test equipment, conducting functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability. Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a positive customer service attitude are vital, as you will be presenting a clean and neat work area to customers and maintaining facility cleanliness and general housekeeping. Other duties may be required as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, modifies and calibrates aircraft electronic systems and components.
  • Certifies integrated avionic systems and components at intermediate levels utilizing shop avionics support equipment and specialized precision measuring equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 4 years of related corporate avionics experience.
  • Must be highly proficient in both troubleshooting/service and installation sides of the role.
  • Advanced certification in avionics preferred.
  • Must be flexible with shift work.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to pass background check and achieve airport badge.
