About the position

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight. As an Avionics Test Engineer Level III, you will be responsible for developing and owning Tester Systems Hardware (HW), tester racks, tester load boxes, and other equipment from requirements definition to design, build, integration, verification and qualification test, and operation. You will collaborate with Software (SW) engineers to integrate tester hardware control and communication systems. Additionally, you will develop and own Tester Systems SW from requirements definition to design, build, integrate, verification and qualification test, and operation, working closely with HW engineers to ensure seamless integration. Your role will also involve collaborating with the Test Execution Team engineers to perform failure analysis for Tester HW/SW control and communication systems. You will own the Tester HWE and SW, and the Tester electronic HW assemblies across the entire tester life cycle, from concept and requirements definition, design, analysis, prototyping, schematic capture, layout, design review, wiring diagram, build and integration, verification, and qualifications and through release to production testing. Furthermore, you will support Tester architecture trade studies, analyses, performance characterization and specification, and device selection, as well as tester risk analyses and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies. Participation in program-level technology development, mission assurance and safety initiatives, and Tester Hardware development process improvements will also be part of your responsibilities. You will be expected to effectively communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
