About the position

The AVP, Actuarial & Analytics at Travelers Insurance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing a newly formed cross-lines analytics team within the Loss Analytics and Reserving (LAR) department. This position involves leading a team of six professionals to enhance reserve capabilities, econometric data analysis, and claim handling. The AVP will influence strategic initiatives, drive operational efficiency, and manage talent development while collaborating with senior leaders across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of actuarial and analytics professionals in the All Lines portfolio.
• Drive strategic initiatives and projects within the department and across the enterprise.
• Perform and lead actuarial and analytic analyses to solve business problems.
• Communicate effectively with staff, peers, and senior leaders regarding project results and business initiatives.
• Manage talent acquisition, retention, and development for the assigned unit.
• Mentor less experienced talent and support their professional growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 7+ years of comprehensive quantitative analysis experience required.
• Project or people management experience required.
• Strong understanding of insurance products and industry.
• Demonstrated ability in actuarial and quantitative analysis and statistical concepts.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate Actuarial Credential preferred.
• 10+ years of quantitative analysis experience.
• Exceptional influencing and consulting skills.
