About the position

The AVP, Actuary position at Wilton Re offers an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic Finance team within a rapidly growing life insurance and reinsurance company. The role involves a broad spectrum of actuarial projects, including calculating reserves, modeling future cash flows, and analyzing financial results. The position requires collaboration with various departments and provides opportunities for interaction with senior executives, including CEOs and CFOs.

Responsibilities

  • Determine, review, and analyze quarterly STAT, GAAP, and tax reserves and related balances for a variety of life insurance and annuity products.
  • Provide required financial reporting information to other areas of the Company, clients, and for regulatory and compliance support, including audit.
  • Perform annual cash flow testing and other asset adequacy analysis.
  • Analyze financial results and experience, propose assumption updates, and support executive level decision making.
  • Propose, test, and implement process improvements.
  • Support the Company in regulatory examinations and questions and ensure the Company complies with regulatory changes.
  • Support Company's LDTI implementation and actuarial modeling conversion from various systems to Moody's AXIS.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8-15 years of US STAT and GAAP reserving and financial reporting experience
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking
  • Strong understanding of life insurance products (whole life, term, UL, payout annuities, deferred annuities, long-term care)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Able to research problems or questions and provide responses
  • React to change productively and able to prioritize multiple tasks appropriately
  • Strong proficiency with Excel
  • Experience with AXIS, ALFA and ARCVAL/CASE is a plus.
