About the position
The AVP and Mortgage Loan Officer II is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Consumer Loan Department, ensuring that loan documents are prepared accurately and timely, and that loans are closed in compliance with bank standards. This role involves managing loan requests, conducting training, and participating in departmental goal-setting and evaluations. The officer also handles HMDA reporting, oversees underwriting quality control, and engages in business development activities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare loan documents for customers accurately and timely.
- Ensure loans are closed in compliance with bank standards.
- Prepare monthly reports for the Consumer Loan Department.
- Manage tickler files and coordinate renewals/extensions of loan documentation.
- Handle HMDA reporting for all consumer loans.
- Maintain files for ORE properties and ensure taxes and insurance are paid.
- Process loan requests in accordance with bank policies and guidelines.
- Approve loans within established lending authority.
- Collect loans listed in individual portfolio.
- Conduct training to ensure adherence to consumer lending policies and procedures.
- Participate in departmental goal-setting and evaluations.
- Conduct daily meetings with staff to discuss progress and issues.
- Perform loan research to resolve customer and program problems.
- Administer secondary mortgage market sales and ensure quality control of loans sold.
- Act as a backup to the Loan Operations Officer for daily loan balancing.
- Engage in business development and call programs.

- Valid Driver's License required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or 5+ years of lending experience in lieu of a degree.
