About the position

At SitusAMC, the AVP of Asset Management plays a crucial role in overseeing the management of a client's portfolio after acquisition. This position serves as the primary point of contact for all aspects of portfolio management, including servicing oversight, servicing transfer, and the implementation of asset strategies on behalf of clients. The AVP will manage multiple servicers, trusts, and strategic portfolio initiatives across various asset classes, ensuring that all operations align with client objectives. Responsibilities include coordinating servicing transfers, conducting operational reviews, reconciling remittances and data, making workout decisions, and identifying any performance irregularities or exceptions in servicing. The AVP will also drive performance enhancements by collaborating with servicers and other internal teams to define asset-level strategies and curative efforts post-settlement, based on loan-level due diligence results. In addition to managing client portfolios, the AVP is responsible for developing customized reporting and project management functions, ensuring that the Asset Management Team meets quality and performance standards. Regular collaboration with clients and servicer engagement is essential, as is the reporting of portfolio performance. The role requires maintaining visibility into the status of every deal, performing necessary reviews in the system, and utilizing advanced Excel functions to analyze and reconcile data. The AVP will also be expected to raise potential issues to management and verify that critical exceptions are applied correctly, while identifying performance trends for potential enhancements to servicer processes or internal systems. Overall, this position is integral to supporting the management and value of client portfolios, requiring a strategic thinker with strong analytical abilities and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall management of a client's portfolio post-acquisition.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all portfolio management and servicing oversight.
  • Coordinate servicing transfers and operational reviews.

Requirements

  • College degree or training in finance or mortgage banking preferred.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in mortgage or secondary market.
  • 5+ years of commercial real estate asset management experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with staff and clients.
  • Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft products.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical ability and good judgment.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
