About the position

The AVP, Change Manager at Sompo International will play a crucial role in the Insurance Operations team by assisting business and functional leaders with readiness for various insurance underwriting technology and process improvement initiatives. This position involves collaboration with IT Project Managers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts to ensure successful planning, implementation, and measurement of results, while managing resources across multiple operational areas.

Responsibilities

  • Implement business plans for technology and operational process initiatives to ensure integration of required skills.
  • Provide thought leadership and oversee plans to ensure business satisfaction and adoption with technology and operations initiatives.
  • Manage and prioritize User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans by identifying resources and timelines.
  • Partner with IT for planning and status meetings.
  • Develop business user communications and provide updates to Stakeholders and the Project Management Office.
  • Function as the escalation path for business issues and decisions to support IT.
  • Act as a change champion for new technology and process adoption.
  • Track metrics and measures of business/operational success.
  • Create and maintain RAID log and escalate business-related issues.
  • Build and manage business go-live cutover plans, including user training and communication plans.
  • Identify lessons learned for continuous improvement to the implementation playbook.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Insurance Operations, Project Management, or Business Analysis.
  • Experience with Guidewire Policy Center and other Guidewire products is a plus.
  • Project Management experience or certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, including technical staff, business users, and executives.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment.
  • Accurate, analytical, and attention to detail.
  • Big picture and customer service focused.
  • Experience participating in IT-related projects.
