About the position

The AVP, Credit Transformation Product Owner at Synchrony Bank is a pivotal role that involves leading an agile team focused on credit products. This position requires a strong emphasis on collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects within specified budgets and timelines. As the subject matter expert for the projects under your ownership, you will work closely with business owners to establish a clear product vision, identify business requirements, and articulate user stories that align with the overall strategy of the product. In this role, you will prioritize features and user stories based on their value and alignment with the product strategy, ensuring that the most impactful elements are addressed first. You will also collaborate with other product owners within the Credit Transformation team and critical partners to identify deliverables, dependencies, and potential risks associated with the projects. Leading product release plans will be a key responsibility, as you set expectations for the delivery of new functionalities. Engaging with key stakeholders, including IT, ECE, Digital, Operations, Compliance, and Risk, will be essential to prioritize ideas and new features effectively. This position is designed for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is adept at managing multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality results. The role is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements, and requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Credit Transformation agile team focusing on credit products.
  • Manage and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects within specified budgets and timelines.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the owned project.
  • Collaborate with business owners to establish the product vision and identify business requirements.
  • Write user stories that align with the product strategy.
  • Prioritize features and user stories based on value and alignment with the product strategy.
  • Work closely with other product owners in Credit Transformation to identify deliverables, dependencies, and risks.
  • Lead product release plans and set expectations for the delivery of new functionalities.
  • Engage with key stakeholders like IT, ECE, Digital, Operations, Compliance, and Risk to prioritize ideas and new features.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business, Electronics, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of post-bachelor's, progressive, related work experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in project/program management and business analysis.
  • Experience leading software development projects.
  • Experience using Agile software development framework.
  • Experience partnering with a cross-functional project team and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience with program increment (PI) planning as part of the SAFe Framework.
  • Knowledge of credit products and banking/credit cards.
