About the position

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Cybersecurity & Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the bank's IT infrastructure and security measures. This position ensures the protection of sensitive data, maintains system robustness, and fosters a collaborative culture within the IT team. The AVP leads daily IT operations, supports employee and customer-facing systems, and manages the IT intern program.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with strategic partners to develop technical integrations and align security measures across banking platforms.
  • Implement and maintain state-of-the-art security protocols and code to create fraud detection and prevention systems.
  • Engineer secure and resilient infrastructure solutions adhering to FFIEC standards, focusing on GCP and partner banking platforms.
  • Craft and maintain scripts to automate security processes, integration tasks, and operational procedures.
  • Design and construct fault-tolerant systems and comprehensive disaster recovery plans.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, particularly for fraud risks, and lead incident response efforts to minimize impact and recovery time.
  • Stay abreast of security technology and banking platform developments to recommend improvements.
  • Manage and optimize cloud services (especially GCP) for performance, cost, and security.
  • Develop and maintain clear system and process documentation.
  • Perform daily system monitoring to ensure system integrity and availability.
  • Oversee patch management to keep systems up-to-date and secure.
  • Maintain hardware and software to support physical and virtual infrastructure.
  • Oversee daily IT operations, including the employee help desk, ensuring timely issue resolution and exceptional customer service.
  • Manage the IT intern program, encompassing recruitment, onboarding, mentorship, and project assignments.
  • Serve as the primary contact for issue escalation from department managers, providing prompt resolution and effective communication.
  • Oversee user account management (creation, modification, deletion).
  • Provide Tier III support and troubleshooting to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Communicate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders regarding infrastructure health and security status.
  • Oversee technology partners to ensure alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the IT team, nurturing a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, CISSP, CISM) preferred.
  • Robust coding/scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and security engineering, with a proven track record in cloud-based environments and financial services.
  • Experience in designing fault-tolerant systems and implementing disaster recovery strategies.
  • Expertise in deploying and managing IT solutions across various platforms, including in-depth knowledge of GCP services.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach to system engineering.
