About the position

The Data Engineering Business Senior Analyst is an intermediate-level position that plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business users and technologists. This position is responsible for facilitating the exchange of information in a concise, logical, and understandable manner, working closely with the Technology team. The primary objective of this role is to contribute to the continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other key measures to gain insights that drive effective business planning. In this role, the analyst will address the need for comprehensive management of project-level exceptions, which includes tracking, categorizing, and managing exceptions across the Data program. The analyst will provide a clear and consolidated view of risks and deviations, ensuring that exceptions are addressed in a timely and consistent manner, thereby reducing escalation issues. This comprehensive approach will support more granular tracking, ensuring that all project-level activities and exceptions are accounted for. The position requires strong analytical skills to filter, prioritize, and validate complex and dynamic data from multiple sources. Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential for success in this role, as the analyst will need to articulate findings and insights confidently to senior management. Attention to detail is critical in supporting management reporting with clear and concise data analysis and presentation. The role also demands efficient time management and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multiple groups and functions.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise between business users and technologists to facilitate information exchange.
  • Contribute to the exploration and investigation of business performance metrics.
  • Manage project-level exceptions by tracking, categorizing, and providing consolidated views of risks.
  • Ensure timely and consistent addressing of exceptions to reduce escalation issues.
  • Support granular tracking of project-level activities and exceptions.
  • Filter, prioritize, and validate complex data from multiple sources for analysis.
  • Prepare and present management reports with clear data analysis.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, power query, VLOOKUPs, and formulas.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to articulate confidently to senior management.
  • Attention to detail in supporting management reporting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong PowerPoint skills.
  • Efficient time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with multiple groups/functions.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Previous experience in a Project Management Office Governance role is preferred.
  • Experience with Citi's Project Tracking System (PTS) is preferred.
  • Financial industry experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
