About the position

The AVP, Direct Marketing is responsible for the timely and flawless execution of Synchrony's Direct Marketing campaigns across various channels, including email, direct mail, and mobile. This role requires expertise in agile project management and deployment platforms, overseeing campaign setup, list selection, and execution while ensuring adherence to process standards. The position also involves collaboration with clients and team members to enhance campaign effectiveness and drive innovation in channel execution.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients and peers to deliver complex channel requests and problem-solve escalated issues.
  • Drive the re-imagination of channel execution to become more flexible and agile.
  • Act as Scrum Master for the team, running stand-ups and assigning workloads.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for advanced channel skillsets.
  • Manage project initiatives, including supplier reviews and platform upgrades.
  • Collaborate with client marketers on design, creative, and segmentation.
  • Build and launch email and mobile marketing campaigns within digital platforms.
  • Manage direct mail processes and vendor relationships for campaign execution.
  • Facilitate accurate execution of 'file only' requests for marketing campaigns.
  • Mentor and coach new hires and team members.
  • Pursue Agile Certifications, including Scrum Master.
  • Audit high complexity campaigns and approve campaign requirements.
  • Share campaign performance metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Investigate and develop pilot strategies for channel optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with campaign documentation requirements.
  • Drive adoption of responsive design for digital optimization.
  • Ensure adherence to purchase order and invoice management procedures.
  • Promote consistent usage of Performance Marketing process tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 8 years of Marketing or Digital experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in email, direct mail, or mobile marketing.
  • Minimum of 3 years working with direct mail vendors for print job execution and auditing.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a project management platform like Workfront.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with end-to-end builds and deployments within an ESP like Salesforce or Responsys.
  • Demonstrated project management skills using an agile framework.
  • Experience working with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with data segmentation and auditing.
