About the position

The AVP, Direct Marketing is responsible for the timely and flawless delivery of various marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including email, direct mail, and mobile. This role requires expertise in agile project management and deployment platform capabilities, ensuring that all marketing initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively. The position involves managing campaign setup, template approval, list selection, and segmentation, while also influencing channel execution standards across Synchrony Marketing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients and peers to deliver complex channel requests and problem-solve escalated issues.
  • Drive the re-imagination of channel execution to become more flexible and agile.
  • Act as Scrum Master, running stand-ups, assigning workloads, and training team members.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for advanced channel skillsets, including data and execution processes.
  • Manage project initiatives, including supplier reviews and platform upgrades.
  • Collaborate with client marketers on design, creative, and segmentation for campaigns.
  • Build and launch email and mobile marketing campaigns within designated platforms.
  • Manage direct mail processes and vendor relationships for campaign execution.
  • Mentor and coach new hires and team members in their roles.
  • Audit high complexity campaigns and approve campaign requirements.
  • Share campaign performance metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Investigate and develop pilot strategies for channel optimization.
  • Ensure all campaigns meet documentation requirements and adhere to compliance processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 8 years of Marketing or Digital experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in email, direct mail, or mobile marketing.
  • Minimum of 3 years working with direct mail vendors for print job execution.
  • At least 2 years of experience with project management platforms like Workfront.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with end-to-end builds and deployments within ESPs like Salesforce or Responsys.
  • Demonstrated project management skills using an agile framework.
  • Experience working with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in data segmentation and auditing.
