About the position

The Equity Research Metals and Mining Associate at Barclays is responsible for conducting in-depth research on companies within the metals and mining sector, analyzing market trends, and preparing investment recommendations. This role involves fundamental analysis, building financial models, and providing insights to clients and internal stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research on companies within the metals and mining sector.
• Analyze market trends and prepare investment recommendations.
• Perform fundamental analysis and build financial models to forecast company performance.
• Present research views to clients through various communication methods.
• Engage with markets, client strategy, and other stakeholders to raise awareness of research findings.
• Collaborate with compliance and supervisory analysts to ensure research is compliant and delivered appropriately.
• Consult on complex issues and provide advice to support resolution of escalated issues.
• Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies in support of governance.
• Communicate complex information effectively to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Equity Research or Investment Banking.
• Solid financial experience including financial modeling and financial statement analysis.
• Ability to work with large data sets.
• Experience in Metals and Mining is highly valued.
• Possession of FINRA regulated Series 63, 86, and 87 licenses.
