About the position

Sompo International is seeking an AVP, Finance Transformation to join our Finance Change team. This pivotal role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and leading various process and technology improvement initiatives with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement. The successful candidate will collaborate with other Finance resources and cross-functional teams from the broader business and IT during the execution of finance transformation projects. The ideal candidate will possess critical thinking skills and the ability to independently translate general business requirements into achievable projects, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision of the Finance function. In this role, you will support the development of the finance transformation strategy within Finance Change and lead cross-functional projects. You will serve as a key member of the project team, working with cross-functional business partners to analyze, design, and implement end-to-end Finance process solutions that drive standardization, efficiency, and effectiveness. Your responsibilities will include leading process walkthroughs to ensure business understanding and drive adoption of solutions, ensuring global processes are standardized and consistent with leading practices, and providing advice when deviations from the standard global process are necessary. Additionally, you will identify and track risks, define mitigation and contingency plans, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. You will provide input into the development of technical solutions to support and automate processes, support the implementation of the end-to-end process through change impact analysis, and work with the appropriate delivery organization to ensure successful implementations. You will also partner with change management to ensure that process and change messages are consistent and clear, contributing to the development and review of testing and training materials.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of the finance transformation strategy within Finance Change.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to analyze, design, and implement end-to-end Finance process solutions.
  • Conduct process walkthroughs to ensure business understanding and drive adoption of solutions.
  • Ensure global processes are standardized and consistent with leading practices.
  • Provide advice on deviations from the standard global process when necessary.
  • Identify and track risks, define mitigation and contingency plans, and communicate effectively.
  • Provide input into the development of technical solutions to support and automate processes.
  • Support the implementation of the end-to-end process through change impact analysis and readiness tracking.
  • Partner with change management to ensure consistent and clear process and change messages.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a transformation analyst.
  • Significant knowledge of accounting and finance best practices.
  • Experience participating in or leading transformation projects in accounting and finance organizations.
  • Strong background in core financial processes: RTR, OTC, PTP, FPA.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Background in the P&C insurance and/or reinsurance industry preferred.
  • Strong management skills with experience leading technical and non-technical resources in a matrix management environment.
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior level managers/executives and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills for managing cross-functional team discussions.
  • Organized, highly motivated, and driven self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
