About the position

The AVP, Group Product Management is responsible for leading the strategy and roadmap for Disability and Absence product offerings at Lincoln Financial Group. This role involves acting as a primary liaison to business stakeholders, managing a team that oversees product maintenance, and ensuring competitiveness in the market. The position requires collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to align product initiatives with departmental profitability and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge on Disability, Absence, PFML and Statutory Disability products and assess the impact of current and emerging developments/trends.
  • Direct and enhance organizational initiatives by supporting change management and departmental initiatives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership to team members and stakeholders on complex assignments/projects.
  • Direct/execute approved strategy decisions and contribute to strategy creation.
  • Define the vision and success measures for prioritized product offerings in collaboration with key business stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and expertise to drive product suite management and implementation initiatives.
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize work to ensure alignment with product strategy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and support prioritization of product requirements, providing recommendations as appropriate.
  • Lead collaboration with internal stakeholders to develop and manage products and services to meet market and profit expectations.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to senior management and leadership; support product initiatives with business areas.
  • Anticipate and provide strategies/solutions to complex issues with product heads to avoid delays.
  • Manage product and profit levers to ensure products meet growth, revenue, expense, profit, and persistency expectations.
  • Balance stakeholder priorities and development team capacity to aid in achievable roadmap and delivery targets.
  • Prioritize and sequence product backlog according to business value.
  • Share expertise and articulate business values to team members.

Requirements

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's).
  • 10+ years of experience in group insurance or employee benefits with direct expertise in Disability, Absence, PFML and Statutory Disability.
