About the position

The AVP, Marketing and Producer Management role at Argo is a hybrid position focused on supporting growth within business units and key strategic partners. This client-facing role involves developing marketing and distribution strategies, managing relationships with distribution partners, and driving initiatives to enhance collaboration and performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong marketing, communication, and project management skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business unit leadership to develop strategic plans and execute marketing initiatives to enhance relationships with distribution partners.
  • Proactively capture client feedback and competitive intelligence to continuously refine the business units' value proposition and opportunities for growth.
  • Support cultivation of a sales culture throughout the business unit.
  • Manage the new appointment process, drive new producer onboarding, ongoing progress reporting, performance management, and handle terminations in support of the assigned business units.
  • Collaborate with business unit and marketing team on campaign development and management, educational, entertainment, and incentive events, advertising, collateral development, and digital and social media strategy.
  • Partner with business unit leaders on development and execution of major conference strategies, including scheduling, producer packets, events, marketing communications, presentations, and follow-up.
  • Track, measure, and drive marketing ROI.
  • Develop and implement plans for client engagement, sales enablement, profitability insights, and key distribution partner strategies that support business unit growth.
  • Interact with distribution partners and actively manage the relationships.
  • Proactively drive the relationship and initiatives with assigned distribution partners.
  • Review the producer data report monthly, identifying trends, opportunities, and concerns; initiate proactive actions in support of the broader Argo Group and distribution partners.
  • Evaluate customer research, market conditions, competitor data, and actively partner with the assigned underwriting departments in advancing a sales-oriented and client-focused approach to producer management.
  • Actively seek ways to incentivize distribution partners to expand their relationships with Argo.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field from an accredited university (required).
  • Master's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years insurance experience required.
  • Minimum of 7 years in marketing/communications role required.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical skill set, including the ability to analyze data and gain insights and provide direction.
  • Ability to think strategically and 'out-of-the-box'.
  • Experience working within a matrixed environment and ability to interface and work collaboratively with colleagues and management at various levels.
