About the position

The AVP of Technical Product Management at The Hanover Insurance Group is a leadership role within the IT Core Services team, responsible for shaping the direction of a specific Value Stream. This position involves creating strategies, managing project and operational requests, and ensuring alignment with enterprise and business architecture. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to establish key performance indicators and report on the Value Stream's status to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Establish the vision for the Value Stream
• Set the strategy for the capabilities in the Value Stream
• Work with architecture to define the capability map and roadmap to meet the established strategy
• Regularly revisit both capability map and roadmap to ensure appropriate investments are being made
• Submit project and operational demands for respective Value Stream and ensure appropriate priority is given
• Partner with operational and execution leaders to ensure desired outcomes are clear and achievable
• Work with policy owners to ensure objectives are aligned to policy and standards
• Partner with operational leaders to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and/or Objectives and Key Results (OKR)
• Govern compliance with policy and KPI's/OKR's
• Report out to senior leadership on the state of the value stream and course correct as required

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, or Technology related discipline
• 7+ years of relevant work experience
• Strong project management skills and strategic thinking
• Strong understanding of systems architecture and business processes relative to Insurance
• Highly proficient in Office 365, MS Azure, and project management tools such as Agile
• Excellent problem solver with strong communication skills
• Proven ability to collaborate across business groups in a matrixed environment
