About the position

The AVP of Technical Product Management at Hanover Insurance Group is a leadership role within the IT Core Services team, responsible for shaping the direction of a specific Value Stream. This position involves creating strategies, managing project and operational requests, and ensuring alignment with enterprise and business architecture. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to establish KPIs and report on the Value Stream's status to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Establish the vision for the Value Stream
• Set the strategy for the capabilities in the Value Stream
• Work with architecture to define the capability map and roadmap to meet the established strategy
• Regularly revisit both capability map and roadmap to ensure appropriate investments are being made to meet the needs of today and the future
• Submit project and operational demands for respective Value Stream and ensure appropriate priority is given based on established criteria
• Partner with operational and execution leaders and teams to ensure desired outcomes are clear and achievable and that operations teams are operationally ready
• Work with policy owners to ensure that objectives are aligned to policy, standards and appropriate procedures are defined
• Partner with operational leaders to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and/or Objectives and Key Results (OKR)
• Govern compliance with policy and KPI's/OKR's
• Report out to senior leadership on the state of the value stream and course correct as required to ensure outcomes are achieved

Requirements

• Proven experience in technical product management or a related field
• Strong leadership and strategic planning skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Experience in establishing KPIs and OKRs
• Knowledge of IT and security risk management
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the insurance industry
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks
• Understanding of agile methodologies
