About the position

The AVP, AMTF Strategies Credit Implementation role is a pivotal position within Synchrony, reporting directly to the VP, Credit Strategies Implementation Lead. This role is primarily responsible for the implementation of Authorization and Real-Time Credit Line Increase requests. The successful candidate will be tasked with building, testing, supporting, and managing the authorization, fraud, and credit line increase request systems for a diverse range of clients, including Co-Brand, Dual Card, Private Label, Commercial, and PS/CC clients. In addition to these responsibilities, the role will involve participating in the design, mockups, testing, and implementation of the future state of our authorization engines, utilizing Java Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts. There may be occasions where commuting to the nearest office is necessary for in-person engagement activities such as business meetings, training sessions, and cultural events. The essential responsibilities of this role include managing the Credit Account Management Infrastructure Real-Time Systems change requests for Authorization, Fraud, and Real-Time Credit Line Increase processes. The candidate will be expected to design, test, implement, track, and support various system and strategy changes for authorization engines, including Power Curve, Java, SAS, and Python. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the transformation and maintenance of code into a modularized environment using Java OOP best practices, collaborating with cross-functional teams on various product and client launches, and interfacing with Agile teams following SAFe protocols to prioritize and deliver stories. Other duties and special projects may also be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Credit Account Management Infrastructure Real-Time Systems change requests for Authorization, Fraud, and Real-Time Credit Line Increase processes.
  • Design, Test, Implement, Track and Support various system and strategies changes for authorization engines (Power Curve, Java, SAS, Python).
  • Assist in transformation and maintenance of code into modularized environment using Java Object Oriented Programming best practices.
  • Work with cross functional teams on various Product and Client launches.
  • Interface with Agile teams per SAFe protocol to get stories prioritized and delivered.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject and 4+ years' experience (or in lieu of a degree, 7+ years' experience) working with programming tools and processes.
  • 3+ years of proven work experience with JAVA object oriented modular programming.
  • 3+ years' experience working with SQL, Python or SAS and scripting.
  • 3+ years' experience working with Test Management practices and tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with consumer and commercial lending products and practices.
  • Experience with Experian Power Curve, FISERV.
  • Knowledge of Agile/SAFe framework.
  • Experience working with Python & Hive.
  • Strong communication to teams in a clear, concise manner.
  • PC proficiency (Microsoft Suite including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) or comparable software application.
  • Experience engaging and working with clients / partners to gain alignment and achieve key deliverables.
  • Cross-functional experience with a track record of leading in a matrix environment and influencing key decision makers.
  • Master's / MBA degree preferred in computer programming, mathematics, finance, business, engineering, or other quantitative fields.
