About the position

The AVP, PRISM Scrum Master will play a pivotal role in leading multiple agile scrum teams focused on the development of Strategic Initiatives within the Credit organization and the PRISM Large Solution. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering agile behavior and acting as a servant leader and coach to the teams. The Scrum Master will assist self-organizing teams in achieving their goals and commitments by facilitating discussions and meetings, collaborating across the organization, removing roadblocks, maintaining team focus, and promoting continuous delivery and improvements. In this role, the Scrum Master will support the SAFe Core Values and apply SAFe Principles while managing a diverse IT team that includes application architects, data engineers, developers, QA, UX designers, and outsourced vendors. The Scrum Master will facilitate collaboration across agile teams, ART, Large Solution, and various other teams to ensure alignment with the team's PI commitments. They will manage iterations and PI, ensuring that processes, delivery, and priorities are accurate and timely. Working closely with Product Owners and teams, the Scrum Master will ensure that deliverables and feedback are completed on time and meet iteration timelines. The Scrum Master will also be responsible for ensuring that agile management practices are adhered to, including maintaining documentation that supports development, testing, and user acceptance activities. They will create platforms and environments for solution demos and user acceptance testing, facilitate technical collaboration with third parties, and communicate effectively across agile teams and the organization. Conducting SAFe ceremonies such as Daily Stand Ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, Demos/Reviews, and Retrospectives will be essential to support the teams and the Release Train/Solution. The Scrum Master will generate progress reports and advocate for autonomous, self-organizing, empowered, and continuously improving teams, while also performing other duties and special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple agile scrum teams executing on development for Strategic Initiatives within the Credit organization and PRISM Large Solution.
  • Foster agile behavior and act as a servant leader and coach to the teams.
  • Assist self-organizing teams in achieving their goals and commitments by facilitating discussions and meetings.

  • Manage a diverse IT team including application architects, data engineers, developers, QA, UX designers, and outsourced vendors.
  • Facilitate collaboration across agile teams, ART, Large Solution, and other teams to align with PI commitments.
  • Manage iterations and PI, ensuring processes, delivery, and priorities are accurate and timely.
  • Work with Product Owners and teams to ensure timely completion of deliverables and feedback.
  • Ensure adherence to SYF IT PMO policies/standards in agile management practices.
  • Create platforms and environments for solution demos and user acceptance testing.
  • Facilitate technical collaboration with third parties, such as data or service providers.
  • Conduct SAFe ceremonies including Daily Stand Ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, Demos/Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Generate progress reports including burn down charts and iteration stats/velocity.
  • Advocate for autonomous, self-organizing, empowered, and continuously improving teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of Technology experience or equivalent leadership program experience, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED and 8+ years of IT experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing and implementing information systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management and/or as a Scrum Master with a strong understanding of Agile.
