About the position

The AVP, PRISM Scrum Master will play a pivotal role in leading multiple agile scrum teams focused on the development of Strategic Initiatives within the Credit organization and the PRISM Large Solution. This position requires a strong servant leader who will foster agile behaviors and coach their teams to achieve their goals and commitments. The Scrum Master will facilitate discussions and meetings, collaborate across the organization, and remove roadblocks to maintain team focus and promote continuous delivery and improvement. In this role, the Scrum Master will support the SAFe Core Values and apply SAFe principles while managing a diverse IT team that includes application architects, data engineers, developers, QA, UX designers, and outsourced vendors. They will ensure effective collaboration across agile teams, ART, Large Solution, and other relevant teams, managing iterations and Program Increments (PI) to keep processes, delivery, and priorities accurate and timely. The Scrum Master will work closely with Product Owners to ensure deliverables and feedback are completed on time, supporting the agile teams in shaping requirements, building, testing, and deploying solutions. The Scrum Master will also be responsible for ensuring that all documentation adheres to SYF IT PMO policies and standards, including development stories, acceptance criteria, and related documentation. They will facilitate SAFe ceremonies such as Daily Stand Ups, Sprint Planning, and Retrospectives, while generating progress reports to track team performance. The ideal candidate will advocate for autonomous, self-organizing teams that are continuously improving, and will perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple agile scrum teams executing on development for Strategic Initiatives within the Credit organization and PRISM Large Solution.
  • Foster agile behavior and act as a servant leader and coach to the teams.
  • Facilitate discussions and meetings, collaborating across the company to remove roadblocks and maintain team focus.
  • Support SAFe Core Values and apply SAFe Principles and practices.
  • Manage a diverse IT team including application architects, data engineers, developers, QA, UX designers, and outsourced vendors.
  • Ensure collaboration across agile teams, ART, Large Solution, and other relevant teams.
  • Manage iterations and Program Increments (PI) to keep processes, delivery, and priorities accurate and timely.
  • Work with Product Owners to ensure timely completion of deliverables and feedback.
  • Support agile teams in shaping requirements, building, testing, and deploying solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to SYF IT PMO policies and standards for documentation and development processes.
  • Facilitate SAFe ceremonies including Daily Stand Ups, Sprint Planning, and Retrospectives.
  • Generate progress reports such as burn down charts and iteration stats/velocity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of Technology experience or equivalent leadership program experience, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED and 8+ years of IT experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing and implementing information systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management and/or as a Scrum Master with a strong understanding of Agile.
