About the position

The AVP Retail Market Manager is responsible for overseeing the retail banking operations of the branch, ensuring adherence to Sauk Valley Bank's customer service culture and standards. This role involves providing leadership, training, and support to staff, maintaining knowledge of bank products and services, and managing internal and external relationships. The position also ensures compliance with bank policies and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage retail banking operations and ensure high service delivery standards.
• Engage in business development activities and solicit new business.
• Instill and maintain a positive sales and service environment through education and coaching of retail personnel.
• Achieve established branch and Sauk Valley Bank goals.
• Educate retail staff on bank products and services.
• Supervise vault operations and procedures.
• Represent the bank in community and civic functions to enhance the bank's image and develop business.
• Perform personnel actions including coaching, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience in financial institution operations, sales, or customer service.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and processes.
• Understanding of retail lending and operations activities.
• Strong knowledge of general office practices and advanced math skills.
• Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to provide leadership and training to employees.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Current driver's license and vehicle with appropriate insurance.
