About the position

LPL Financial is seeking an AVP - Senior Network Engineer who will play a crucial role in the design, engineering, and operations of local and wide area networks (LAN, WAN) as well as branch offices in a hybrid data center/cloud environment. This position is integral to providing scalable, resilient, and secure networking solutions for LPL, our advisors, and their clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our network infrastructure is robust and capable of supporting the diverse needs of our financial advisors and their clients. In this role, you will design, implement, and support network technology at our branch sites and data centers. You will be involved in the local and wide area network design, deployments, and administration of various technologies including MPLS, DIA, and SDWAN. Troubleshooting complex issues will be a key part of your responsibilities, where you will identify root causes and develop strategies for continuous improvement of the network environment. Collaboration is essential, as you will work effectively with various teams within the organization as well as external vendors and partners to develop solutions that align with our hybrid data center/cloud architecture and adhere to network, security, and industry standards. Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support network technology at our Branch sites and Data Centers.
  • Local and Wide Area Network design, deployments, and administration of MPLS, DIA, and SDWAN technologies.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues, identifying root causes, and developing continuous improvement of the environment.
  • Effectively collaborate with various Teams within the organization as well as external vendors and partners.
  • Develop solutions that are aligned with our Hybrid Data Center/Cloud Architecture and Network/Security/Industry standards.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of Network Engineering experience, designing/configuring/troubleshooting Cisco network switches, routers, and wireless connectivity.
  • Experience in onsite branch office deployment as a network engineer for mid-sized to large-sized clientele.
  • Experience in network security hardening and controls as well as experience using network monitoring and logging tools (ie SolarWinds, LiveNX, ELK).
  • Ability to perform periodic Network performance and compliance analysis. Experience in Network optimization, reporting, and long-term planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
  • CCNA/CCNP a plus.
  • Experience with Cisco SDA or Meraki a plus.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in well-known protocols and standards (ie VLANs, Spanning-Tree, OSPF, BGP, DNS, 802.1x).
