About the position

The AVP, Senior Underwriting Manager, Risk Management at Liberty Mutual Insurance is responsible for overseeing underwriting operations for Risk Management accounts in the Northeast Division. Responsibilities

• Oversee underwriting operations for Risk Management accounts in the Northeast Division.
• Acquire, retain, and develop underwriting talent through mentoring and coaching.
• Develop and implement strategies for evaluating risk quality and enhancing underwriting skills.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients.
• Evaluate portfolio performance based on profitability metrics and industry trends.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal documentation standards.

Requirements

• Expert level understanding of commercial casualty products and insurance operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Advanced degree or equivalent training required.
• CPCU designation (or equivalent) preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in underwriting.
