The AVP, Solution Architect is a pivotal role responsible for the design and development of applications and services within a solution development workstream. This position requires a balanced mix of technical and business acumen, as the architect collaborates closely with enterprise architects to ensure strategic alignment. The primary focus is on making informed technical decisions that directly impact business outcomes, which the development team will utilize to implement the solutions effectively. In this role, the AVP, Solution Architect must possess a deep understanding of business processes to create a cohesive product vision. This involves not only technical expertise but also strong communication skills to convey complex ideas in simple terms to project teams. The architect will be responsible for building and integrating information systems tailored to meet specific client needs, which often involves the integration of software and hardware solutions. The architect will organize the development efforts, providing guidance throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This includes directing designers and developers on how to construct the prescribed solutions, selecting appropriate technologies, and ensuring that the applications are user-friendly and scalable for future needs. Additionally, the architect will assess the advantages and risks associated with third-party frameworks and platforms, oversee programming, integration, and testing of software systems, and manage special projects as assigned.
