About the position

The Awake Overnight Youth Program Specialist at Kadiri House is responsible for providing overnight care to boys aged 8 to 17 in a group home setting. This role focuses on ensuring the safety and well-being of the youth during sleeping hours, documenting daily activities, and supporting the Youth Worker team in various tasks. The position emphasizes creativity, teamwork, and a commitment to empowering youth to develop positive character traits.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure safety for youth during sleeping hours and stay awake in case of emergencies.
• Document and attend to any disruptions, night wanderings, etc.
• Keep an updated inventory of pantry and refrigerator.
• Assist in late evening or early morning routines.
• Filing youth paperwork as needed for the team.
• Fulfill other job-related responsibilities assigned by leadership.
• Washing towels or residents' clothes as needed.
• Household cleaning in preparation for the next day.
• Complete training hours required by state and organization regulations.
• Participate in staff meetings.
• Assist day staff with preparing the daily schedule.
• Assist with current record-keeping in youth's files.
• Record daily/nightly notes for the shift.
• Perform administrative duties.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Prior experience of 1 year working with youth preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Must be of good moral character.
• Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Valid Minnesota driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days from start date of employment.
• Clean driving record and insurable per corporate driver's insurance policy.
• Ability to pass an MBI, FBI, and any other employment requirements by the agency and/or Minnesota Department of Human Services.
