About the position

We are seeking an experienced AWS Aurora Database Analyst to join our team in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 10 years of comprehensive database experience, including 9 years specifically with AWS Aurora database. This role is critical in optimizing analytics performance and ensuring data quality through effective SQL queries. The successful candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for issue resolution, collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design technical solutions that meet those needs. In this position, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation related to system architecture and design, which is essential for ensuring clarity and consistency across projects. You will develop SQL queries for data quality validations and reporting purposes, extracting, manipulating, and calculating information as per project requirements. Additionally, capturing detailed defect information for timely resolution during defect management is a key responsibility. The role also involves utilizing SQL querying tools such as DBeaver and SQL Workbench to optimize database performance. You will identify and rectify database performance issues, including query optimization and index tuning, while monitoring database activity and performance using appropriate monitoring tools. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be necessary for effective issue resolution, making strong communication skills essential for this role.
