About the position

We are seeking an experienced AWS Aurora Database Analyst to join our team in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 10 years of comprehensive database experience, including 9 years specifically with AWS Aurora database. This role is critical in optimizing analytics performance and ensuring data quality through effective SQL queries. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the candidate will be responsible for issue resolution and will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design technical solutions that meet those needs. The AWS Aurora Database Analyst will be tasked with creating and maintaining documentation related to system architecture and design, which is essential for the ongoing management and optimization of database systems. The role also involves developing SQL queries for data quality validations and reporting purposes, ensuring that the data used across the organization is accurate and reliable. The candidate will extract, manipulate, and calculate information as per project requirements, capturing detailed defect information for timely resolution during defect management processes. In addition to these responsibilities, the analyst will utilize SQL querying tools such as DBeaver and SQL Workbench to identify and rectify database performance issues, including query optimization and index tuning. Monitoring database activity and performance using appropriate monitoring tools is also a key aspect of this role, as is collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve any issues that arise. This position requires a proactive approach to database management and a commitment to continuous improvement in database performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize analytics performance through SQL queries on various relational databases.
