About the position

Infosys is seeking an AWS/Azure and Snowflake Data Engineer with a strong Data Engineering background. In this role, you will enable digital transformation for our clients in a global delivery model. You will be responsible for researching technologies independently, recommending appropriate solutions, and contributing to technology-specific best practices and standards. This position requires interfacing with key stakeholders and applying your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). As a Data Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in AWS and Azure, particularly with Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Bricks, to implement end-to-end project solutions. Your role will involve significant hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL, Unix shell scripting, and Python. You will also be expected to have a strong understanding of databases and big data software technologies, specifically in the context of Azure and Databricks. This position may require travel within the US, and candidates must be located within commuting distance of Richardson, TX or Raleigh, NC, or be willing to relocate to these areas.

Responsibilities

  • Enable digital transformation for clients in a global delivery model.
  • Research technologies independently and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Contribute to technology-specific best practices and standards.
  • Interface with key stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Implement end-to-end project solutions using AWS/Azure and Snowflake.
  • Utilize SQL, Unix shell scripting, and Python in data engineering tasks.
  • Work collaboratively in a diverse, multi-stakeholder environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • Proven experience with Snowflake and AWS/Azure, specifically Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Bricks.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in SQL, Unix shell scripting, and Python.
  • Significant experience in software engineering and data engineering roles, focusing on Azure and Databricks.
  • Strong understanding of databases and big data software technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with Spark and Scala.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, data engineering concepts, algorithms, collections, multi-threading, memory management, and concurrency.
  • Experience in large scale cloud data migrations using Snowflake, Python, Spark, and SQL.
  • Sound knowledge of software engineering design patterns and practices.
  • Good understanding of Agile software development frameworks.
