About the position
The AWS Cloud Architect (TS/SCI) position at Strategic Business Systems involves working as a Resident Consultant within the AWS cloud environment. The role focuses on providing on-site assistance to customers, reviewing architectural models, deployment patterns, and operational requirements while advising on best practices for utilizing AWS services. The consultant will also integrate into the customer team, implement solutions, and develop automation code, all while collaborating closely with AWS technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Customer with general review of conceptual architectural models using available AWS Services in various AWS regions.
- Review possible deployment patterns for the customer's environment using AWS Services.
- Evaluate the Customer's current architecture, dependencies, and operational requirements in the AWS cloud.
- Advise the Customer on best practices for architecting their environment using AWS Services.
- Provide documentation and artifacts to the Customer.
- Integrate into the Customer team's daily workflow, including attending meetings and conducting demonstrations.
- Implement proposed solutions by developing and integrating infrastructure-as-code and automation code into the Customer's software baseline.
Requirements
- Proficient experience with programming languages/technologies such as Bash, Python, PowerShell, and Typescript.
- Experience with CI/CD/Automation/DevOps tools like Git, Ansible, Jenkins, and GitOps, as well as Operating Systems (Linux and/or Windows).
- Hands-on experience with setting up cloud environments using AWS tools and services.
- Experience building infrastructure as code technologies including Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with containers and container orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead across organizations.
