About the position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking highly skilled and technical consultants to join our Professional Services team, focusing on the National Security sector. In this role, you will assist U.S. Intelligence Community agencies in implementing innovative cloud computing solutions and addressing complex technical challenges. You will leverage the latest cloud technologies to help these agencies understand application architectures and integration strategies, ensuring successful project launches. Your expertise in security best practices for applications, servers, and networks will be crucial in this position. As a member of our team, you will engage in a variety of projects, drawing on collective experience from across the AWS customer base. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer success and collaborates closely with various AWS product and service teams to provide tailored solutions that meet customer needs. You will be part of a dynamic and creative environment where you will be encouraged to take on challenges and make a significant impact. This position requires a strong passion for working with Intelligence Community customers, where you will educate, train, design, and build cloud solutions tailored to their unique requirements. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of large-scale computing solutions and experience as a systems or support engineer. You will participate in deep-dive education and design exercises to create innovative solutions on AWS, continuously honing your technical skills and developing new ones. This is an on-site position, requiring you to work from our Annapolis Junction, MD location or customer sites at least one day a week. Candidates must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph, and be willing to opt into additional clearances as required by government agencies for AWS work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist U.S. Intelligence Community agencies in implementing cloud computing solutions.
  • Educate and train customers on application architectures and integration approaches.
  • Collaborate with AWS product and service teams to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Participate in deep-dive education and design exercises to create innovative solutions on AWS.
  • Maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of design/implementation/consulting experience with distributed applications or equivalent education experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with software development tools and methodologies.
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
  • Experience in technology/software sales consulting or equivalent skills.
  • Professional experience architecting/deploying/operating solutions built on AWS.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Experience managing highly available data center operations with responsibility for infrastructure robustness, including networking, server hardware, and storage.
  • Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
