About the position

The AWS Cloud/DevOps Engineer position at Primary Talent Partners is a contract role that spans 8 months, with the possibility of extension. This role is situated within the Information Technology Services team and is designed for a Lead or Senior DevOps Build Engineer. The successful candidate will be part of the DevOps & Platform Engineering group, focusing on hands-on development and technical support for the implementation of automated Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CICD) pipelines. A key aspect of this role involves integrating security scans, including Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), Open Source Software (OSS) scans, and Container Scans for various cloud projects. The engineer will leverage their exceptional communication and influencing skills alongside their technical expertise to standardize the DevOps pipeline and provide guidance on secure architecture. Responsibilities include providing architectural vision, anticipating problems, and solving issues at an enterprise level. The engineer will be expected to stay informed about business, infrastructure, and technical issues to contribute to the development of innovative solutions. They will design, lead, and build an automated deployment toolset and infrastructure, ensuring conformance to technical standards for programming and design techniques while maintaining security in accordance with the Bank's information security policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide architecture, vision, problem anticipation, and problem solving on an enterprise level.
  • Stay informed about business, infrastructure, and technical issues to contribute to creative solutions.
  • Design, lead, and build an automated deployment tool set and infrastructure including environments and code management using a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery process.
  • Take ownership of technical aspects of software development for assigned applications.
  • Ensure conformance to technical standards for programming and design techniques.
  • Maintain security in accordance with Bank information security policies.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of AWS experience delivering technology solutions in a DevOps architectural capacity.
  • Hands-on experience with significant depth around crafting, implementing, and managing critical multi-functional components and their integration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and oral, with proven ability to collaborate in a professional manner.
  • Proven experience implementing, integrating, and maintaining the critical infrastructure for a DevOps environment.
  • Knowledge of C++, Java, JavaScript, and .Net technology stacks with hands-on experience of integrating build tools and technologies across the enterprise.
  • Expertise working in Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience in coding and scripting using Python, Groovy, Shell, YAML, JSON, and other scripting languages.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Configuration/Build Management, Build/Release Management, and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as NPM, Maven, and GitLab/Git.
  • Strong knowledge of installation, configuration, support, and maintenance of GitLab and Artifact Repos (Nexus).
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing vulnerabilities reports using security tools such as Fortify, SonarQube, Nexus IQ, and GitLab native scan tools.
  • Experience in setting up Checkov and KICS for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scans.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Eclipse, IntelliJ, or other popular IDEs.
  • Ability to work with APIs and Plugins to integrate security tools into established CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience running containerization tools (Docker) workloads in AWS Services such as CloudWatch, EC2, Lambda, Fargate, ECS, and/or EKS.
  • Experience with Secrets Management and storage using AWS Secrets Manager, Systems Manager Parameter Store, and Vault.
  • Experience building and maintaining AWS environments using Terraform scripts and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Knowledge of Agile tools such as Jira, VersionOne/Client-ALM.
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Information Technology, or Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Terraform and scanning tools knowledge (e.g., NexusIQ).
  • Experience in a hybrid work environment.
