About the position

The AWS Cloud Developer position at Application Research Center LLC (ARC) focuses on designing, developing, and managing serverless applications using AWS Lambda and other AWS services. The role requires a strong understanding of serverless architecture and cloud-native development, with an emphasis on optimizing cloud solutions for performance and cost-efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage serverless applications using AWS Lambda and other AWS services.
  • Develop and maintain APIs using AWS API Gateway and integrate with Lambda functions.
  • Create and manage AWS CloudFormation templates for infrastructure as code.
  • Optimize Lambda functions for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Lambda functions and other AWS resources using CloudWatch.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Implement security best practices and compliance measures for serverless applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services and features, and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in cloud development with a focus on AWS services.
  • Extensive experience with AWS Lambda, including function creation, event sources, and integration.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Node.js, or Java.
  • Experience with AWS API Gateway, AWS DynamoDB, S3, and other relevant AWS services.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Proficiency in using AWS CloudWatch for monitoring and logging.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS Certified Developer Associate or higher.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and AWS ECS/EKS.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with additional cloud platforms or services is a plus.
