About the position

The AWS Cloud Engineer will support a key government customer by building, deploying, managing, and administering cloud infrastructure to deliver complex software products in a production environment. This role requires collaboration with a high-performing team to enhance the effectiveness of critical missions both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Build, administer, and secure cloud environments, including hybrid environments.
  • Design, develop, test, debug, and deploy new cloud tooling and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, data scientists, and project managers.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to systems and platforms.
  • Write and update technical documentation such as system documentation and training materials.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • More than two (2) years of applicable experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience configuring cloud VPCs, subnets, route tables, and gateways.
  • Experience scaling applications written in Java, Python, or other programming languages with Cloud Native technologies.
  • Experience deploying code in AWS using Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and Serverless cloud technologies.
  • Experience securing cloud environments per NIST 800-53 security controls.
  • Experience achieving customer accreditation of cloud solutions for sensitive systems.
  • Strong technical expertise in configuration automation, deployment, and continuous integration technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS Certification: Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud technologies for ETL and big data pipelines such as Glue, EMR, HIVE, Spark, S3, SQS, and SNS.
  • Experience with Kubernetes or EKS.
  • Experience using the AWS CDK.
