About the position

As an AWS Cloud Engineer within the National Security Professional Services team at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in helping U.S. Intelligence Community agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about leveraging the latest cloud technologies to solve complex technical problems. You will be responsible for guiding these agencies in understanding application architectures and integration approaches, utilizing your consultative and leadership skills to ensure project success. Your expertise in security best practices for applications, servers, and networks will be crucial in this role. In this position, you will collaborate with a diverse range of customers and partners, drawing on collective experience from across the AWS customer base. The Professional Services team is dedicated to delivering strong customer success and driving feature innovation based on customer needs. You will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest engineers in the industry, further developing your skills and advancing your career within one of the most innovative technology companies. The role requires a dynamic and creative individual who can make work enjoyable while tackling challenges head-on. You will be expected to engage with Intelligence Community customers, educating and training them while designing and building cloud solutions tailored to their unique requirements. A strong understanding of large-scale computing solutions is essential, and you will participate in deep-dive education and design exercises to create innovative solutions built on AWS. This position is not remote; you will be required to work on-site or at customer locations at least one day a week.

Responsibilities

  • Implement innovative cloud computing solutions for U.S. Intelligence Community agencies.
  • Guide customers in understanding application architectures and integration approaches.
  • Utilize consultative and leadership skills to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate with AWS teams to deliver the right solutions and drive feature innovation.
  • Engage with customers to educate and train them on cloud solutions.
  • Participate in deep-dive education and design exercises to create innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of design/implementation/consulting experience with distributed applications or equivalent education experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with software development tools and methodologies.
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
  • Experience in technology/software sales consulting or equivalent skills.
  • Professional experience architecting/deploying/operating solutions built on AWS.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Experience managing highly available data center operations with responsibility for infrastructure robustness, including networking, server hardware, and storage.
  • Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
