About the position

The AWS Cloud Engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure and services for our client in Fort Mill, SC. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud-based solutions, ensuring security and compliance, and developing automation scripts. The engineer will work with various PaaS services and manage scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on the AWS platform.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Develop automation scripts for cloud operations.
  • Ensure security and compliance of cloud solutions.
  • Collaborate with architecture and development teams to align cloud solutions with business requirements.
  • Define and develop blueprints and roadmaps for cloud solutions.
  • Monitor service health, incidents, performance trends, and capacity/utilization of AWS services.
  • Manage access control in public cloud environments and monitor IaaS and PaaS services.
  • Support IAM issues and create new IAM roles and policies.
  • Distribute and apply software updates systematically.
  • Monitor workload performance to meet current and future demands.
  • Meet Incident/Problem management SLAs to restore service operations promptly.
  • Provide support and break-fix for cloud infrastructure workloads in AWS.
  • Manage team and workload effectively.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of work experience on cloud solutions.
  • Proven experience with AWS Cloud Certification.
  • Strong understanding of networking, containers, and fault tolerance.
  • Experience with SQL and MySQL; NoSQL experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Ansible, AWS Cloud Formation, and MAG Resource Manager.
  • Experience in DevOps, scripting, configuration management, and infrastructure automation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud-specific tool sets.
