About the position

The AWS Cloud Engineer position is a contract role based in Cincinnati, Ohio, requiring candidates to be local and available to work downtown four times a week. This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders across IT applications and operations teams to analyze, design, build, and maintain automated DevOps solutions. The engineer will be responsible for packaging and distributing these solutions for enterprise consumption, ensuring they are efficient and effective for end users. A significant part of the role includes building Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins and Groovy, with a strong emphasis on pipeline framework experience. The engineer will also be tasked with authoring and maintaining documentation to facilitate end-user adoption and operational support, ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed and capable of utilizing the solutions provided. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of various AWS services, particularly RDS, S3, Athena, ECS, Lambda, AWS Organizations, and IAM policy setup. Additionally, experience with cloud and on-premises replication is essential. The role requires proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies and the ability to provide automation solutions using Python Lambda functions for repetitive tasks, such as conducting quarterly audits and daily health checks in RDS across multiple accounts. Familiarity with Platform as a Service (PaaS) and container technologies, including OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes, is also important for this position.

Responsibilities

Requirements
