About the position

The AWS Cloud Operations Lead at Beacon Systems, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the operations of the SHARP secure cloud infrastructure, platforms, and software. This role involves understanding business objectives, analyzing user requirements, and ensuring that cloud solutions adhere to security and compliance standards. The position requires a hands-on approach to develop automated provisioning patterns, manage cloud deployments, and resolve application and security issues. The role is hybrid, requiring one day onsite per week in Austin, TX, and is open only to local candidates.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain multiple environments for increased observability.
• Develop tools to continuously improve maintainability, monitoring, security, and scalability of cloud deployments.
• Provide operations support and enhancement of the SHARP platform.
• Analyze user requirements and operational procedures to improve existing systems.
• Write detailed descriptions of user needs and program functions.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud operations.
• Strong programming skills and experience with Linux administration.
• Experience in supporting, maintaining, monitoring, and securing AWS IaaS and PaaS services.
• Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting network issues.
• AWS SysOps Administrator Certification.

• Experience with Splunk.
• Knowledge of Dev/Ops concepts.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize conflicting assignments.
