About the position

The AWS Cloud Solutions Architect position at PETADATA involves a comprehensive role that requires extensive experience in cloud architecture and solutions. The successful candidate will coordinate and consult with management to develop processes and procedures for designing and implementing components of technological structures. This role is pivotal in creating solutions with a process-driven view while also maintaining and updating existing structures to ensure they meet the evolving needs of the business and its clients. The architect will be responsible for determining the needs of diverse and complex customer groups, applying their understanding to resolve complex or unusual business problems. This includes translating functional requirements into technical solutions and engaging with matrixed teams to ensure successful implementation. The role also involves overseeing existing structures and implementing ongoing monitoring of governance to ensure compliance and efficiency. In addition, the AWS Cloud Solutions Architect will perform modeling, analysis, and planning to solve technical business problems, identifying opportunities and risks that may arise during the process. This position requires a strategic thought leader who can advance product architecture tooling and operation models related to application portfolio modernization and technical debt management. The architect will also be responsible for designing architecture patterns and leading the strategy and roadmap of capabilities from an architectural perspective, coaching and mentoring other architects within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and consult with management on the development of processes and procedures for designing and implementing components of technological structures.
• Create solutions with a process-driven view and maintain/update existing structures.
• Determine the needs of diverse and complex customer groups by applying understanding and resolution of complex business problems.
• Translate functional requirements into technical solutions and engage matrixed teams.
• Oversee existing structures and implement ongoing monitoring of governance.
• Perform modeling, analysis, and planning to solve technical business problems and identify opportunities and risks.

Requirements

• Develop target state architectures, including compliance for cloud inventory influence delivery toward target state with the business and firm-wide technology products.
• Promote a deeper understanding of the executing production architecture to address and optimize patterns, anti-patterns, and areas requiring agility for more rapid innovation.
• Provide strategic thought leadership in advancing product architecture tooling and operation models related to application portfolio modernization and tech debt that is visible and actionable.
• Ensure standards, principles, and tech stack are refreshed and guide application modernization.
• Design architecture patterns and lead strategy and roadmap of capabilities from an architecture perspective.
• Coach and mentor other Architects within the organization.
• Collaborate with other Architects on application architecture, data architecture, deployment architectures, and functional design specifications.

Nice-to-haves

• Expertise in Database and Management technologies including both relational and NoSQL DBs.
• Expertise in AWS Data Migration Service and Test Data management frameworks including encryption, masking, data, and database migration.
• Experience with cloud migration and microservices architecture.
• Skilled in Amazon Web Services (AWS) offerings, development, and networking platforms.
