About the position

The AWS Cloud Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable cloud solutions on AWS. This role requires a strong background in IT and cybersecurity, along with excellent technical expertise and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will also mentor team members and stay updated with the latest AWS technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop AWS cloud solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
  • Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions on the AWS platform.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud architecture strategies and roadmaps.
  • Implement best practices for cloud security, cost optimization, and resource management.
  • Provide guidance on AWS services, including EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, and Lambda.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Stay current with the latest AWS technologies and industry trends.
  • Mentor and support team members in cloud technologies and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of relevant IT and cybersecurity experience.
  • Proven experience as an AWS Solutions Architect or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture and AWS services.
  • Experience with cloud security best practices and frameworks.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools such as AWS CLI, CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of network architecture and protocols.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).
