About the position

The AWS Data Architect role is focused on leveraging cloud data warehouse technologies on the AWS platform to design and implement comprehensive data solutions. The position requires extensive experience in data architecture, engineering, and governance, with a strong emphasis on data quality and lineage. The architect will be responsible for end-to-end implementation of data platforms, ensuring effective data migration and the development of various data storage solutions such as Data Lakes and Data Marts.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end AWS data platform solutions covering architecture, design, data engineering, data visualization, and data governance.
• Lead data migrations and the development of Operational Data Stores, Enterprise Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Data Marts.
• Utilize SQL and manage the Data Warehousing life cycle effectively.
• Implement cloud ETL and ELT processes using tools like DBT, Glue, EMR, or Matillion.
• Collaborate with Business and IT stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout projects.
• Plan project execution and provide effort estimation for data architecture initiatives.
• Apply knowledge of Data Vault, data mesh, and data fabric architecture patterns in project designs.
• Work in Agile environments to deliver data solutions efficiently.

Requirements

• 10-15 years of total experience in data architecture and engineering.
• 3+ years of expertise in AWS data platform technologies including Glue, EMR, RedShift, and Databricks.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and the Data Warehousing life cycle.
• Experience with cloud ETL and ELT tools such as DBT, Glue, EMR, or Matillion.
• Familiarity with Bigdata ecosystem, particularly Hadoop.
• Expertise in at least one traditional Data Warehouse solution like Oracle, Teradata, or Oracle Exadata.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with Business and IT stakeholders.
• Experience in project planning and effort estimation.
