About the position

The AWS Data Engineer role at Mueller Water Products involves working with the entire Cloud Data stack to design, build, and operate data infrastructure. The position focuses on creating data pipelines, data warehousing, and data lakes, while collaborating with various stakeholders to support data-related technical issues. The role is based in Atlanta, with remote work options available, and reports to the Director of Enterprise Data Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources using SQL and cloud migration tools.
• Optimize RDBMS engines in the cloud and address security, performance, and operational issues.
• Design, build, and operate large-scale data lakes that meet business requirements.
• Optimize data ingestion, storage, processing, and retrieval for various data types including real-time events and unstructured data.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Develop AI/ML models using AWS services and collaborate with data scientists to implement machine learning solutions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role in a cloud-native ecosystem.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field (Graduate preferred).
• 3+ years of experience with AWS Glue ETL, Redshift, Step Function, and Athena.
• Experience in implementing data pipelines for streaming and batch integrations using Glue ETL, Lambda, and Spark.
• Experience with Lake Formation Orchestration and CI/CD pipelines in AWS.
• Familiarity with Relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, Postgres, and DynamoDB.
• Proficiency in Python and Advanced SQL.
• Experience in building and optimizing big data pipelines and architectures.
