About The Position

We are currently seeking a skilled AWS Database Administrator who is experienced in managing and optimizing databases on the AWS platform while also leading a small team of engineers. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Postgres, Redshift, and DynamoDB, with a strong focus on performance tuning for both platforms and queries. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and performance of our database systems, implementing best practices, and providing technical guidance to your team. As an AWS Database Administrator, you will manage and maintain Postgres, Redshift, and DynamoDB databases on AWS. Your responsibilities will include optimizing database performance through configuration tuning, index optimization, and query optimization. You will also implement and manage database backups, replication, and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring that our data is secure and recoverable in case of any issues. Monitoring database health and performance metrics will be a key part of your role, allowing you to proactively identify and resolve any potential issues before they impact our operations. Collaboration is essential in this position, as you will work closely with development and operations teams to design and implement database solutions that meet performance and scalability requirements. Staying updated on AWS database technologies and best practices is crucial, as you will be expected to recommend and implement improvements as necessary. Additionally, you will automate repetitive tasks and processes to enhance efficiency and reliability within the database environment. Leading a small team of 1-2 engineers, you will provide technical guidance and coaching to help them grow and succeed in their roles.
