We are seeking a skilled AWS Database Administrator (DBA) who is experienced in managing and optimizing databases on the AWS platform and leading a small team of engineers. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Postgres, Redshift, and DynamoDB, with a strong focus on performance tuning for both platforms and queries. Additionally, soft skills in leadership and coaching are highly desired, as this role involves guiding a small team. In this position, you will manage and maintain Postgres, Redshift, and DynamoDB databases on AWS, optimizing database performance through configuration tuning, index optimization, and query optimization. You will implement and manage database backups, replication, and disaster recovery strategies while monitoring database health and performance metrics to proactively identify and resolve issues. Collaboration with development and operations teams will be essential to design and implement database solutions that meet performance and scalability requirements. Staying updated on AWS database technologies and best practices will be crucial, as you will recommend and implement improvements as necessary. Furthermore, you will automate repetitive tasks and processes to enhance efficiency and reliability, while leading a small team of 1-2 engineers, providing them with technical guidance and coaching.
